Cork Stopped

Sat Nov 15, 2008, 1:33 PM
Tons of stuff happening around here!

I'm moving my studio from my garage to a really cool place called CorkStop Studios [link] , which I will be sharing with three other fantabulous artists. I'm really excited about this!

I also started a blog [link] a while back. I will be uploading works in progress as soon as I'm set up in my new space. You'll also find some rants and crazy ideas and other news there, so check back every once in a while (or subscribe and get it via email!)

The sun is shining, it's 93 degrees outside (whether you want to call it Indian summer or global warming I leave up to you).

Life is good!

Go vote!

Oh well, I thought my covers were pretty nice, but apparently not everybody agrees. I must say some of the covers in the "most popular" gallery are rather ugly.

The voting ends November 3 I think... If you have a minute, go here: [link] and vote for a good design (it doesn't even have to be mine ). You can vote by either giving a cover  or , or by leaving a comment and rating the design with up to 5 stars.

And if you're American, make sure you vote on November 4 as well! It's really important!

But first, let's celebrate Halloween! I will be in New Orleans, leaving tomorrow morning at 4am, coming back Sunday night... I'm so excited! Never been there...

To see my costume, follow my blog: [link] I'll post some pictures there when I get back!

Happy Halloween! :pumpkin:

no, not from India... I never went. Too bad, I know. Hopefully sometime soon.

I was busy with other stuff: [link]

The plan is to dedicate the next 6 months to painting.
We'll see how that will work out.

Wish me luck!

Call for artists, poets, etc!

Thu Jul 24, 2008, 2:19 PM
ARTISTS · POETS · PHOTOGRAPHERS · DIGITAL ARTISTS and OTHER CREATIVES WANTED!

The Holonic Art Movement is looking for you! We're in the middle of planning an event on September 27, 2008 at CorkStop Studios (www.CorkStopStudios.com). We have a few projects planned and need more participants. Here's a list:

1. at least 12 artists to create 5x5" pieces of art (photography, prints, drawings, paintings, watercolor, collage... you name it) with a given theme in mind. they have to be on heavier paper and will be matted & framed together.

2. artists to create 2.5x3.5" cards (like Artist Trading Cards, no rules - as long as the final product is this size and more or less flat) or tags (size to be determined). Themes will be announced.

3. poets to submit poems to go along with the artist cards (see 2).

The cards and poem will be combined into a book by a local book artist.

The deadline for all artwork is August 15th. No exceptions, no excuses. If your work isn't here, we can't use it! Pieces will need to get assembled and/or framed, so this will give us enough time. Book artists will need time to create the book before the event, so if you don't think
you can't finish your project by August 15th, let us know! We will sign you up anyway, but save your piece for the next round. We're also open to your ideas about how you would like to interact and collaborate with other artists!

To find out more about the Holonic Art Movement, visit our website: [link].
To get involved email us (art@holonicarts.com) and let us know in which project you're interested.

If you have artistic friends, feel free to pass this call for artists on to them!
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Have a colorful day!
