I'm intriqued by the frase "Your statement is enclosed" Probably only because English to me is not as familiar, because it is my second language. But the fact that we don't MAKE statements anymore, but get them SEND to us in the mail caught my attention the other day.
I must say I have noticed a trend towards not having an opinion in many people. Partly because they are afraid of being politically incorrect (and maybe getting sued?), partly because they simply don't HAVE an own opinion but instead a collection of other people's opinions. And when you dig deeper and ask questions, they tend to get vague. So a lot of times I feel left behind with my need to discuss and argue, my need to actually "test" my opinions in real life and see if they can withstand a good conversation. But good conversations are getting rather rare.
I could blame it on all kinds of things: computers, internet, TV. But in the end, I'm exposed to all that, too.
So what makes the difference?

Curiosity maybe? The strong believe that ignorance is NOT bliss, even if the truth hurts? Probably.
